Scholarship Opportunities
The Minnesota State Mounted Posse Association is proud to be able to give Scholarship Opportunities to Members of our State Mounted Posse Association, Children and Grandchildren of our Members, as well as to our Staff, their children, and grandchildren that work within our MN State Sheriff's Offices of an Active Posse within our Association.

All Applications are DUE prior to February 1st
Award Recipients are invited to attend our Annual State Posse Convention.
Don Eustice Memorial Scholarship
Criteria for Applicants:
Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are enrolled in postsecondary education working towards a career in law enforcement/criminal justice- related field. (Applicant may be requested to provide a receipt of tuition paid)
First Priority will be given to:
The applicant is an active member of a posse in good standing with the MSMPA
The applicant is the child of or a grandchild of an active posse member whose posse is active with the MSMPA
The applicant meets one of the above and is a 2nd year college student enrolled in applicable program.
Second Priority will be as follows:
The applicant is the child of or a grandchild of an active posse member whose posse is in good standing with the MSMPA
The applicant meets the above and is a 1st year college student enrolled in applicable program.
Third Priority will be as follows:
Applicant is a or child of a Law Enforcement staff who works for a MSMPA-member Sheriff’s Office.

MSMPA Scholarship Application
Selection criteria:

Applicant’s local posse must be in good standing with the MSMPA.

Applicant is either an active member or an immediate family member of a posse in good standing with the MSMPA (member, son, daughter or grandchild).

Applicant’s local posse must have attended at least one MSMPA meeting during the year.

Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-high school educational institution (technical college, vocational college, 2-year college or 4-year college).

First-time applicants will have priority over second-, third- or fourth-time applicants.
Selection process:

Applications must be received by February 15 each year.

Application must include current college transcript (or receipt of tuition paid for vocational college).

Scholarship committee will review all applications received and scholarship recipients will be notified by mail or email by end of February.

Scholarship funds will be distributed to the applicant at the annual convention. If the applicant is unable to attend the convention, a spouse, parent or grandparent can accept the scholarship funds on the applicant’s behalf.
